Take a look up
As you're sitting on the cement floor
Maybe I'll catch your eye
Just in time for you to
See me drift on by
One eye open
The other constantly blinking
Impossible to stand up
If you get used to sinking
Stay right where you are
Get comfortable
Being held down tight
As long as you know where you're at
Forget what it felt like
To have a steady pace
You can't get hurt again
If you stay where it's safe
Close the other eye
To ease the transition
As instinct pulls you deeper in
You step away from what is real
Clogged veins reinforce your reasons
To become numb looks so inviting
But is it worth giving up the sensation?
Slow down your motion
As your reflexes become stationary thoughts
Fast forward through emotion
Just to eventually say you forgot
You tell me it's easier that way
So don't bother getting up for me

...seems like that would be the way....
but it's not. *hugs* Never in forgetting. But then, the remembering can be just as hard to deal with sometimes. I guess...it's all in the living...
*huge hugs*
Great, provocative work as always love.

When one has dealings with scholars and artists it is easy to miscalculate in opposite directions: behind a remarkable artist one not infrequently finds a mediocre man, and behind a mediocre artist often a very remarkable man.
